Tools Needed: small bucket, old towel, scissors, sharp clippers

Students are advised to bring something to drink, a salad & soup lunch will be provided

Modelled after the traditional English willow platter, this colorful platter uses a hardwood branch frame with natural and custom-dyed rattan and various other materials. Students will learn how to manage filling in shapes, inserting ribs, and using a variety of colorful reed or other materials to vary texture and color while making this iconic platter or wall hanging.

The platter is 12” - 16” long.

Beth Allman has been weaving for over 40 years. Largely self-taught, she loves the interplay of color and incorporating natural elements into her weaving.

“I am drawn to making utilitarian items that are beautiful and useful. But most of all I love sharing the craft.”

Beth Allman lives in Quincy, Florida, with a yard full of exciting vines and saplings.
