William Owen is a self-taught Carrabelle-based artist who works in oils, pastels and watercolor. He is an avid outdoorsman and has been creating art based on the natural landscape since he was a teenager in Central NY where the lakes and rivers of the Adirondack Mountains gave him inspiration. Since retiring to Florida in 2012 he has enjoyed using a variety of media to capture the unique feel and beauty of rural, coastal Florida. He has also been managing a small gallery in Carrabelle offering local artists an opportunity to showcase their art.
William recently earned a place in the 36th Art in Gadsden Juried Exhibition in Quincy, FL. He is also currently represented in the River’s Edge art gallery in Apalachicola with a series of paintings featuring boats set along the beautiful waters of the Forgotten Coast.
