Debra was born in central Illinois and has lived in Tallahassee, FL. for more than 30 years. She is married to Randy (also an artist) and has raised three children. She is a self-taught artist working in acrylic and oil. She has drawn and painted all of her life either through inspiration or by commission. Her most recent venture, Painted Memories, offers paintings developed from her client's travel photos or home landscape photos and are intended to preserve places or events on canvas to grace the walls of home or office.
Her work typically expresses the joy and happiness she finds in living. Her work favors idyllic moments, real or remembered, home landscape portraits; such as your personal residence, choildhood home, beach house, historical renditions, nature landscapes, and cottage florals.
Debra has been selected to exhibit annually, (2007-2019) at Lemoyne "Chain of Parks" art festival. She has exhibited in many juried shows and received the "People's Choice" award for the Lemoyne 2008 "Pillars Project" and was chosen to be the featured artist Lemoyne's 2008 Chain of Parks art festival in Tallahassee. She has served on Lemoyne Center for the Visual Arts board of directors. She exhibited with her husband Randy at Tallahassee City Hall and Lemoyne in the 2010 and 2016 seasons and at the Gadsen Art Center in May 2012. She won best of show for the 2013 Creative Tallahassee exhibit. Locally her art can be seen at Weezies, Strauss Gallery, Canopy Rd.
